Timeline PhotosUsers of Berrigan Water supplies may or may not notice (depending on the individual) an earthy odour and taste to the drinking water due to high algae concentrations in water sources.
The current Algae count levels are unusually high, however, the water treatment plants are continuing to provide safe drinking water although off smelling and tasting.
Odour and taste issues seem to be widespread in this region across multiple water utilities. Your patience is greatly appreciated whilst we continue to try and remove taste and odour particles during water treatment and whilst waiting for nature to run its course and dilute algae concentrations. ... Road Tripping 🚗
We're in Berrigan today - a pretty drive about 140kms north east of our base at Echuca Moama - where we're catching up with new client Berrigan Shire Council.
We've been engaged to write the 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙂𝙪𝙞𝙙𝙚 for Berrigan Shire (due out later this year), and we're over the moon about it!
👩🏻💻
Writing feature stories about people and places in rural and regional Australia is one of our great passions, and when we get to do it for hard copy publications like this one, well that's just the icing on our cake.
🍰
So much of the content we write these days is for the digital space, because, *well*, social media.
📱
We love that too of course, but nothing fills our book-loving hearts more than getting to hold and see the words we write on a physical page.
📖
We are so looking forward to working on this wonderful project alongside Berrigan Shire Council and can’t wait to spend some time exploring this beautiful part of the world and getting to know the people and places that make it so unique.
If you live in the Berrigan Shire, or if you're a regular visitor there, let us know what you love most about it. 💓
And be sure to share some of the hidden gems that we should keep an eye out for. 💫 ... See MoreSee Less

Timeline PhotosLooking for activities this Australia Day long weekend?
Look no further than the Tocumwal Foreshore!
On Saturday we have the ever popular Tocumwal Foreshore Markets on from 7am. With bargains, fantastic foods, fresh vegetables and unique gifts galore.
Sunday morning join in the Australia Day celebrations on the other side of the levy bank from 8am.
There will be a wonderful cooked breakfast on offer for a gold coin donation, and entertainment provided by Nathan Vaccaro.
The main program commences at 9am with a Citizenship Ceremony welcoming four new Australians.
At 9.30 we will be raising the flag before a fantastic "The Man from Snowy River" Showcase which will be followed by the 2020 Australia Day Award presentations for Sports Team of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year, Community Organisation of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and finally Citizen of the Year.
But don't plan to race off too soon as Nathan Vaccaro is returning to entertain before the Tocumwal Chamber of Commerce duck race.
Pack your bathers as well and head to the beach, the pool or the Splashpark for more fun in the afternoon.
Also in Cobram-Barooga we have the Beach Volleyball competition back once more. Saturday 10am to 7pm, Sunday 9am to 7pm and Monday 9am to 12pm. The best volleyball players in Australia will be on Thompsons Beach. Free entry. ... See MoreSee Less
